If you are looking for possible places to stay in the Bay of Islands; stop right here! We had the most amazing couple of nights at Dave and Anita's place - the only tough thing was leaving! The studio is beautiful with more than you'll ever need and the view from the garden is breathtaking. The hot tub is the perfect place for your breakfast cuppa, watching out for dolphins in the bay.
We spotted some on our first morning, leaping behind a boat, so we shot down to the beach and into the (complementary!) kayak to join the whole pod for half an hour of pure joy. Just us and around 15 dolphins with their young, dipping and diving under and around us, it was the most magical experience and has totally made our honeymoon – and we were only on day 3!
Even if you don't see the dolphins it will still be one of the highlights of your trip staying here – the hospitality and friendliness of the hosts is second to none and the studio is spotless and really well equipped.

This place is absolutely incredible. Opening the doors on our first morning was a magical experience as we were staring right out to the ocean! The room is beautiful and roomy (and smelled so good) with everything you could need for a getaway. The spa looking out over the sea is stunning and definitely a highlight. The location is just over the hill from Russell itself which is even better than staying in the town as you are away from the tourists etc. There is a beautiful swimming beach and a fantastic walk along the nearby hill. Definitely recommend this spot!

Dave was a fantastic host and provided my partner and I with local knowledge and places to visit on our three night stay. Accommodation and ammenities were immaculate with an absolutely breathtaking view. Sea kayaks provided allowed us to explore the coastline of Russell which was an absolutely amazing experience.

My partner and I found this to be a perfect getaway, we made use of the kayaks available, enjoyed a glass of bubbles in the spa whilst watching the sunset. We also did the Tapeka track which had spectacular views, perfect place for a picnic and went to Kororareka Oyster Farm for some fresh Oysters. We enjoyed the Crusty Crab takeaways and experienced a divine dinner at The Duke of Malborough. The Pacifica Room was very welcoming and perfect to come back too after a day of traveling and exploring. We were very happy with our stay here.

Beautiful quiet location with a fantastic little beach to walk along, we even saw dolphins in the bay! The spa pool has the best view of all. Loved the location and the stay :)

My family and I had a lovely stay at this beautifully stylish and clean two bed apartment. Equipped with every amenity you could ask for, the spot is also well located right next to the beach and at the end of a quiet residential street. What’s more, while the property is shared, it’s still quite private. Enjoy the view from the hot tub out the back, or drive the 5 minutes to Russell. Thanks for having us!
